Anche se il nome è preso da una trilogia gotica di Mervin Peake, lo stile dei Titus Groan è molto più arioso e brillante. Nel loro unico album trovano posto brani lunghi ed elaborati in vario stile (rock, folk, hard, con tracce di blues e jazz), ben riassunti nei quattro atti della splendida suite Hall Of Bright Carvings (titolo ancora preso da Peake).
Domina quasi sempre il suono del basso, con stilettate strumentali, spesso fiatistiche e arie di Jethro Tull, Soft Machine, East Of Eden.
