Ideatore del Punkt Festival, produttore (Last Night The Moon Came Dropping Its Clothes In The Street di Jon Hassell e gli ultimi due album di Arve Henriksen per l'ECM portano la sua firma), avido collezionista di samples e fields recordings, il norvegese d'adozione Jan Bang è uno dei tanti talenti che ruotano al margine della scena avant/elettronica scandinava. Imbattibile nel "live sampling" da bordo palco, Bang addomestica le sue pulsioni taglia e cuci adattandole al format dell'album in studio, creando un inquietante patchwork di sacro e profano grazie ad un dream team di trombettisti (Nils Petter Molvaer e gli stessi Hassell e Henriksen) e alle vocals di Sidsel Endresen che ammantano di magia pagana The Midwife's Dilemma e Exile From Paradise.
